Branded Arctic Acres was established in 2018 upon the arrival to Alaska from our move from North Carolina where were were formerly known as Sweet Ride Stables. The Army brought us here and All 12 horses made the long journey north to Alaska where we have laid our roots again, permanently. It has taken us a few years to transform our property into a location that is acceptable to offer the equestrian activities we provide.
We strive to provide others with the knowledge and fundamentals of horsemanship in a calm, relaxed, relationship building way. Our training program is based off of over decades of handling and gentling wild mustangs and even longer (over 20 years) of being engaged with various equine activities. Those activities expand from New York to Germany and then to North Carolina in the Souther Pines horse county! We also have years of experience in the show ring, hunter/jumper as well as dressage!
Today we focus on building partnerships with our equine family, utilizing equine-assisted learning and coaching. Learning to read and understand what the horse is teaching us and communicating to us plays a large role in how we approach our horse activities and relationship building.
We currently have 6 horses and ponies who are part of our lesson program! Each horse is carefully paired with a rider who will help build confidence, experience, and skill!

If you are an organization who is interested in more than lessons, but rather workshops that involve our equine partners, we also offer Equine-Assisted Learning!Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential learning technique that facilitates personal growth by teach-ing social/emotional and life skills through horsemanship and riding. We focus on individuals, small groups, as well as large groups.

We are currently offering a variety of opportunities and experiences to be part of. We are located off Bodenburg Loop at near the base of the Butte Trailhead! Contact Us Today!

The new Branded Arctic Acres Equestrian Center now features a 13 stall barn, covered round pen with a state of the art skywalk. The facility also features multiple cross-tie areas, a heated tack, heated wash rack, and multiple turnout areas, not to mention the large galloping field for training and grazing. Summer 2024 will also welcome a new indoor riding arena 60x90 Foot with sand footing!
What is the Skywalker?

The state of art skywalker is a 66' diameter covered ring that is an automatic horse walker. The walker has 8 sections to hold 8 horses. If needed, the panels in between the horses can be charged. The walk offers a variety of speeds to accomodate all different horse sizes, conditioning levels, therapy, as well as your very fit, athletic horses. It is possible to go from a very slow walk to a fast/extened trot, canter. The walk also moves in both directions, which can be either set for one way or automatically changing directions on its own every 10 minutes.
